Introduction to Java
Java is a general purpose object oriented, class based and concurrent programming language which provides us best of its features i.e. WORA(Write Once and Run
Anywhere) i.e. we can make our program on an environment i.e. Operating System and run on any other environment (This feature is opposite in case of c and c++).
Java applications are both compiled and interpreted that is the compiler compiles the java application into its byte code that can run on JVM(Java Runtime Virtual
Machine)which is also known as platform independent. Java is developed by James Gosling at Sun MicroSystems in 1991 and released in 1995.It was originally known as
Oak which was the tree in front of the Gosling’s office. But this name was already registered by Oracle so the Green team (the team working on java is known as green
team) engaged to get a new name to Oak. Finally they came to the name Java which was the name of the Coffee in Indonesia .The main motive is to make the language
Secure, Reliable and Portable. Its J2SE version is used for Stand Alone Applications, J2EE for Enterprise Applications (they both run on Netbeans or Eclipse) and
J2ME for creating Mobile Applications (run on android studio). It is a very Secure language as it does not include pointers in it and also simple as it has in built
Garbage Collector that handles the work of memory allocation. For best Java trainig visit Infowiz Software Solution Chandigarh
The latest version is Java 11 released on 25th of September 2018, which follows Java10 after only six months] in line with the new release schedule. Java 8
is still supported but there will be no more security updates for Java 9.Versions earlier than Java 8 are supported by companies on a commercial basis; e.g. by
Oracle back to Java 6 as of October 2017.
